Dr. Lou Traina, CFRM
IMPACT Coach
Dr. Lou Traina is a Senior Consultant and IMPACT Coach for IMPACTability®. He specializes in assisting clients with major gifts and capital campaigns. He has served in public and private nonprofit enterprises in southwest Florida for more than 29 years and is well-known throughout the community as an expert in his field.
His passion for fundraising serves as a vehicle for enhancing the presence of nonprofits and allowing organizations to achieve their missions. In addition to his fundraising expertise, he is an experienced administrator and effective community leader.
Lou has led several major gift campaigns for Florida SouthWestern State College, Hodges University, and the Diocese of Venice. Among his many accomplishments, Lou secured the philanthropic naming of the Suncoast Credit Union Arena, Hodges University, three academic schools, and other noteworthy projects.
His knowledge and experience allow him to provide Soukup Strategic Solutions clients with the support they need. “The team at Soukup Strategic Solutions allows me to maximize my services and expertise in both the philanthropic community and the nonprofit organizations,” he says.
Lou holds a Doctorate in Education from Columbia University. Primarily working in Board and Foundation governance, advancement development, collaborative leadership, investment giving, and organizational leadership
Dr. Traina was recognized as an “Outstanding Fundraising Executive of the Year” on National Philanthropy Day in 2013 by Collier Lee Chapter Association of Fundraising Professionals. The prestigious award is only given to an “outstanding individual fundraising professional who works for a nonprofit or charitable organization.” (AFP Global)
In his spare time, Dr Traina likes to do personal training as well as non-competitive mixed martial arts.
